4th of July, Swedish style...

Hamburgers, Ribs, coleslaw, American flags...this was the best Independence day in Sweden so far!  The Swedes seemed to enjoy a 4th of July quiz, and were especially surprised to hear about our national anthem and "the bombs bursting in air"  (See the official text below):

 (plus some extra fun stuff...)

Did you Americans know that in Sweden you can buy "American Hamburger spread" in a tube?

Daniel organized with his parents so we even got to take a little date out to the beach,
played minigolf, had an ice cream, etc...

 Markus is ready for lunch!
Lydia is also hungry, but not quite so camera happy.

We also got the kids out to the lake for some fishing...their new hobby!

The Star Spangled Banner
Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

Systematic Theology, Chapter 39

*Just a reminder that this study of Wayne Grudem's book, Systematic Theology, is not by any means me teaching, but rather a simple sum...
